ensure: to make certain or sure ; guarantee
assure: to cause to feel sure or certain ; convince but not a
guarantee
EXAMPLE:
me: mom i assure u i will be back by 2AM…
mom: ok son..
me: obviously came back home later than that…
mom: why did you come back home so late??
me: i only ASSURED u i will be back by midnight i didn't ENSURE you about it…
dad: laughed…letting me of this time… =)
