Reading and Understanding..

was reading da softcopy of this book,

The Undercover Economist: Exposing Why the Rich Are Rich, the Poor Are Poor--and Why You Can Never Buy a Decent Used Car!

all in all, its and interesting book…wont put you 2 sleep, it’s in the context of simple and understandable English, and his view is very catchy, i like the way he criticizes some of the framework and theories, even some i have learned..well i realized external reading can really be useful in increasing your understanding =)

 

1 Malaysia!! ****

Malaysia will adapt new rules on fuel subsidy which will eliminates subsidy for foreigners and luxury car owners in Malaysia by using MyKad as a medium for records who are eligible for the subsidy.

The ministry is still discussing and studying the mechanism…ERMMMM,YEAH!!

The government had announced that the fuel subsidy management system would be announced on May 1 together with the removal of subsidy to foreigners.

the mechanism discussed include limiting the sale of fuel to motorists based on the vehicles used.

“If they can afford to buy luxury cars, then they can surely afford to pay for unsubsidized petrol,” WTF!!! SAID BY SOME ( ____ ) MINISTER!

My question, how big is a big engine? Two litre, or 1.8? Or 2.5, or 3.0? Or is even 1.6l considered the preserve of the rich and undeserving? We don’t know. We’ll know on May 1.

                          

So, how about the rich Malaysian guy who has three or four cars, ranging from a Mercedes S350 to a Perodua Myvi? Or even a RM200,000 MINI? Can he drive the Myvi to a petrol station and fill up to the brim four times a day, and then siphon  the fuel to his Benz and Alphard? If not, why not? He’s got a MyKad, and a Myvi!

Remember the recent rebate fiasco when some rich fellows with five cars could collect rebates on all five cars, as long as they were all smallish?

REVIEW:

The CGI that can be seen in this film are convincing and do not disappoint, especially in the scene where humans are possessed and when Percy  is burnt after being splashed by acid till his spine could be seen. Other than that, the music that's included in the film also gives off a creepy dark vibe and would keep the audience on their toes.you will definitely form your own opinion about "Legion" after watching it, i seriously din like iT, and the ending was sucky….. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY TO GO AND WATCH IT…

 

 

WHILE HEADING BACK 2 DA CAR, ACC SAW THIS 2 COUPEL’S MAKING OUT IN DA CAR,LOLXX , AND IF IM NT MISTAKEN WAS AROUND 5.30PM…WOW, DAMN DARING LAR…  i think this location will be much more smoother at nite than during the day time,hahaha.

Avatar ( 3D )

Avatar in 3D was pretty awesome, and went all the way 2 gurney plaza 2 watch it,CRAZY RITE??The film had action, romance and sad scenes, which is everything you want from a film. You could see how much money was spent on the film, the special effects and CGI were amazing to say the least.

The 3D effects were very satisfying and were used throughout, bt some scenes should have been in 3d while they were nt.there weren't many 3-D pop-out effects as i EXPECTED though,nevertheless If i had to see the film again in 2D, it wouldn’t be the same at all.

The only down point of the whole film in my opinion was the length. 3 hours (3 1/2 with adverts) is an extreme time to be watching a film. But this cannot knock the film’s brilliant storyline, characters and overall enjoyableness. In conclusion the film was brilliant, the characters were great and the battles were epic. Overall, I give the film Avatar (in 3D) a rating of 8/10.

Awhile back we were told that the DVD edition of Avatar would feature a Na’vi sex scene. Well, a video has been released on YouTube illustrating what that might entail.

well, since Mr.david was always asking us 2 widen out perspective and knowledge on economics and stuff..just randomly decided 2 buy a book which i realized was not cheap, started reading since i have so much ideal time and guess what, I'm hooked 2 this book =)

come on, as students you want to learn something about economics, but your textbooks are so damn dull. What exactly does the Federal Reserve do? How come money is still worth anything when there's inflation every year? How come insurance companies are charging more and more for health coverage, but no one is making any money, and no one can afford coverage anymore?
it uses like so many examples from recent events and a friendly, rapid-fire prose style and even brings the most econo-phobic into the beauty of the "dismal science." For the sake of sanity, he eschews all graphs and charts. Yes, even i  can dig it. In fact, you'll come to see economic thinking as not only USEFUL, but FUN!!!!!

MoViE NiTe’s

Really interesting movie nite’s for 2 consecutive dayz in Rachael's place, i came 2 really appreciate the quality of  movie’s in a HD tv, had lotzz of fun with my whole bunch of buddies…though some movies were really goods while some were nt really of my liking, all in all enjoyed myself, thks for organizing this meet up after such a long time =)

 

 

                            InGlOrIouS bAsTeRdS, well i think they are real BaStERds!!! hahaha, although some people may nt like the movie, bt i enjoyed it, and i have 2 gv a thumbs up for pit’s acting!

 

    The 2009 remake of 1980 film Fame was a little lame. There were talented teenagers left, right and center, but not even they could make Fame a powerful, inspirational film. Don’t get me wrong, the movie wasn’t “bad.” It just didn’t live up to the hype. There were too many cast members. And time past too quickly for viewers to follow the growth of talent and relationships among the characters.i actually wanted to c what will they do in their respective carrier in da future, that would have been nice. Overall, the film still offers a few entertaining music,especially the new version of "Out Here On My Own."

 

viewing the film from the 'of course this is silly, but, I'm going with it' standpoint, it was entertaining... until the last few minutes.

lamest ending, almost ever.

The opening scene blew me away!! Absolutely amazing action at the beginning. Andrei (Pitbull) Arlovski stole the show with a great action performance. JCVD had a smaller role than the previous film and did a solid performance. I was disappointed that Dolph Lundgren's role was so small but he did a great job. The long fight sequence between Dolph and JCVD had some amazing parts as well.
The action at the beginning is by far the best; yet the film continues to deliver till the very end. I especially appreciate the minimal use of dialog. Extensive dialog was not needed for this film and was not included (useless and excessive dialog drives me nuts in action films).

Something we’ve noticed over the years with our girl friends who are single or who are not happy in their relationships. They LOVE watching romantic comedies and dramas. One phrase you can pretty much guarantee hearing when you have a girl’s night/movie nite in watching romantic movies that all star anyone who has grazed the cover of People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ issue is, “Why can’t I meet a guy like that?” Well ladies, it’s because…THERE ARE NONE. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not a man-hater. I’m just saying movies depict men in an unrealistic way, therefore causing many women to have unrealistically high expectations of what makes a good boyfriend/husband.
